Have you ever played dodge ball? Of course, you have or probably did as a child at least. Life is a little like playing dodge ball. Right now, I feel like we are playing dodge ball with the approaching hurricane Ike. Or at least I hope we dodge it. Oh, well, I know we can't dodge it, we just have to make the best of it. I am grateful for the opportunity to face another storm.
The only difference is that you can't play the strings of life dodging the struggles and troubles of life. Struggles and rough times are as sure as breathing or the air we breathe.
People who try to live their life hiding behind a rock or shelter themselves from every storm in life, miss the joy of living and playing dodge ball. Remember how much fun it was to play in the rain? Remember the spontaneous joy and laughter you felt during the storm?
So why not play dodge ball in the strings of life now? When the storms come, remember you can experience joy, laughter, peace and tranquility in the mist of the storm. Feel the love and gratitude for each step you take, for each struggle you make. Together we can make a difference in understanding depression and playing dodge ball in the strings of life.
I will keep you in my thoughts and prayers as we face the storm and dodge whatever is thrown our way.
