Your mind is a little like a movie cinema that runs the films of your thoughts, your values, your beliefs and your life. If you could do a cat scan of the minds of people passing by, you'd see a variety of movies. Some would center on a fresh exciting new day open with lots of possibilities. Some would be the faces of loved ones. Some might even reveal a joyful mental dance. Others would be self-centered dreams of greed, pornography, trash of a misguided culture, fearfulness, loneliness and depression.
What's on your mind today? Try making a journal of pictures, drawings or paintings of your thoughts for several days or a month. Cut out pictures that you like out of a magazine and paste them to different pages. In this way, you will see what your subconscious mind is thinking. If the themes of your movies have been envy, fear or lust; cleanse your mind by mediating on good possibilities. I've had several people tell me they were amazed when they started keeping a picture journal. Your mind gravitates to the things that is on the mind of the subscious. Your movies will turn to peace and joy.
